TOYOTA i-ROAD “Sound-X” / TOYOTA
iPhone Application Converts Real-time Driving Data to Music
The Toyota “i-ROAD” is an urban mobility vehicle that combines features from both motorbikes and cars. The vehicles seek next-generation performance in terms of driving, size, environmental performance, and everything else, with an eye toward the future of urban transportation.
It is a three-wheeled vehicle with two front wheels and one rear wheel, and the front wheels move up and down to control the body of the vehicle automatically to achieve the optimal tilt for cornering. It is an electric vehicle equipped with a lithium-ion battery, environmentally friendly, and can drive approximately 50km (at 30km/h) on a single charge.
The “SOUND-X” is an iPhone application that utilizes real-time driving data (CAN data) from the i-ROAD, analyzing four parameters: accelerator, lean, steering, and speed, and converting them into original music. By changing the sound according to the time, place, and situation, the drive becomes infinitely more enjoyable.
